Year of the Dragon-
Chinese New Year is an important holiday in the Chinese culture with a deep history and mythology tied to it. The Chinese calendar also contains a zodiac of 12 animals and 5 elements that are said to affect one’s personality and destiny. 2024 is the Year of the Dragon (the Wood Dragon to be exact), and we dyed up a colorway respectfully called “Year of the Dragon.”
This colorway has a base color of gray and then hues of red, pink, peach, orange, and brown that were heavily speckled onto the yarn. The yarn base used is a 2-ply, sock weight yarn, so it’s perfect for making socks, scarves, hats, wraps, and shawls.
-80% Superwash Merino Wool/20% Nylon
-2-ply, Fingering/Sock Weight, 100 grams, 399 yards
-Handwash in cool water with a mild soap. Dry flat.
If using more than 1 skein in a project, it is highly recommended to alternate between skeins every few rows, as there will be variations between skeins due to the hand dyeing process.
**Darker colored, highly saturated yarn, may have some color release when washed. Highly recommend to hand wash again before starting your project. Mixing wash with distilled white vinegar or a small amount of rubbing alcohol will help. Helpful to add color catcher sheets to your wash as well.
